Admission Season Starting at Kazan University

60 thousand applications are expected at KFU after nationwide enrolment procedures kick off on June 20th.

5,316 freshmen will be admitted this year (up from 5,265 in 2015). This is also the first season when budget-funded medical education will be available - there are 71 vacancies.

Significant rise in industry-sponsored pedagogical education is notable – 207 against 127 in 2015. Conversely, other humanities and social sciences will be downsized – the job market is already saturated, as the Ministry of Education and Science says.

Unified State Exam results, as always, will be the primary selection criteria. However, studious high school alumni have the opportunity to add up to 10 points to their scores through victories in scientific contests and excellence in physical training.

It is expected that about 20 thousand youngsters will apply, each of them selecting three programs on average. The competition thus can be as high as 10 to 14 applicants per vacancy.
