Renovations at the Institute of Economics and the University Clinic

Rector Ilshat Gafurov and involved parties discussed plans for present and future repair works and refurbishments.

Restoration of the former military hospital (now Kazan University Clinic) was talked about on June 4th. The hospital is a historical heritage site, so special treatment and approvals are in order. The nearest building to the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology is planned for both lecture rooms and labs. The works on cost projections and engineering blueprints will start after property certificates arrive from the federal authorities.

Another building in the plans is the former municipal clinic number 2 located in the same block. The renovations must be made without much interference into the workflow – the clinic serves as many as 50 thousand people from local neighborhoods.

As for the Institute of Management, Economics and Finance, all the repairs there must be finished before June 15th as per the Rector's orders. These works are the last at this building – lecture rooms and the ballroom were renovated in 2015, and this year has seen the contractors move on to the first floor and the entrance lobby.
