Kazan University among Leaders in National Ranking of Universities

KFU is 8th in education and 10th in brand value.

The seventh iteration of the National Ranking of Universities by Interfax was presented on May 31st. There are six categories: Education, Brand Value, International Activities, Research, Social Environment, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The ranking factors in questionnaires, official data, information from the Ministry of Education, and proprietary SCAN and SPARK databases. 2016 is the first year when category rankings are published incrementally to attract more media attention and discussion.

As expected, Moscow State University is the leader in both Education and Brand Value. It’s followed by Bauman University and Novosibirsk University in Education, and by Saint-Petersburg University and Higher School of Economics in Brand Value.

Head of the National Ranking Research Group Aleksey Chaplygin visited KFU recently and gave some advice on the advancement in rankings. He was very optimistic about Russian universities and opined than no less than a dozen of them are able to enter the Top 200 in the world by 2020. He also said that Project 5-100 gives internal competition in Russian education a very good boost.
