The German company's delegation, led by Director Gunter Lipelt, visited on May 18th.

The two sides met not long ago when a delegation from Thuringia was in Tatarstan. AJZ then offered its services for a trilateral project together with Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The latter has its own university clinic, and that experience is interesting for KFU. Possible future establishment of the Russian-German Medical Education Academy was also discussed.

All the participants of the meeting agreed that all components of the Clinic’s functioning – patient care, research, and education – must be treated with equal attention. Prospective research areas mentioned during the talks are artificial organ production and new medications.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov said that it would be preferable to open «mirror» labs and operating rooms in Kazan that would copy those already existing at Jena University. That would make the cooperation much smoother.

AJZ representatives promised to provide detailed offers in the nearest future.
