Director for Educational and Research Cooperation at Microsoft Yuliya Mayorova said that the company is interested in providing additional educational opportunities for university students and secondary school students. Dr. Gafurov added that Microsoft’s products can also be of use for teachers’ retraining at the relevant centers of KFU. He then instructed all the institutes to think about potential collaboration projects with Microsoft.

Director of ITIS Ayrat Khasyanov informed that there are quite a few joint projects with the company already in place. Possible future works include data visualization, software localization, and contracts for software engineering.

As for Rohde & Schwarz, an agreement with the company is planned for signing in June. General Director of Rohde & Schwarz Rus Oleg Medvedev told the audience that there is a control equipment production together with Rostec. Kazan University also makes use of some of the Rohde & Schwarz’s equipment. The two sides have a strategic partnership agreement that was signed in June 2014. The most productive cooperation is with physicists. Oleg Sherstyukov, Head of the Division of Radio Physics and Information Systems, said there is an antenna systems lab working within the framework of said agreement. He also mentioned some prospective collaboration areas, such as radar systems, communication and navigation systems testing, automation and modelling.
