Consul General of Turkey in Kazan Sabri Tunc Angili visited KFU

On December, 3 Consul General of Turkey in Kazan Sabri Tunc Angili visited Kazan University. During the visit there was a meeting with KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov.

“We are glad to welcome you in the Kazan University. The relations between Tatarstan and Turkey become stronger, because each visit gives opportunities for new plans”, said Ilshat Gafurov.

Sabri Tunc Angili told that the main purpose of his visit to the KFU is to contribute to the cooperation of Turkish universities and Kazan University. “It is a great honor for me to visit the oldest university. It was not a coincidence that KFU was chosen by the Institute named after the poet Yunus Emre as a Russian platform for opening the center of studying the Turkish culture and language ", said the Consul. "This is not just a center, it is a bridge for cooperation in various fields", confirmed Ilshat Gafurov. The head of the University designated areas in which research cooperation should be developed. For example, molecular biology, chemistry, pharmaceutics, geology. The parties expressed their desire to further development of the close cooperation.

Besides the above mentioned universities KFU cooperates with the National Turkish Observatory TUBITAK, the Gebze University, the Marmara University, the Canakkale University and the Turkish Linguistic Society Turk Dil Kurumu in the framework of educational and research projects.


Currently an agreement with the Technical University "Yildiz", which is considered to be one of the leading universities of Turkey in the field of modern technology and the third oldest university is being prepared for signing. During 2012 30 students and teachers from KFU went to Turkey. 48 students and trainees from Turkey study in KFU during 2012-2013.
