Iranian Diplomats Will Study at Kazan University

The relevant papers were signed on February 10th.

The program aims to adapt Iranian professionals to the local working conditions and teach them the Russian language and culture. Mohsen Fagani, Acting General Consul of Iran in Tatarstan, expressed hope that the graduates of this program will be able to successfully communicate without interpreters and be aware of local cultural nuances.

The cooperation between Kazan University and the Islamic Republic continues to broaden and include new types of activities. Iranian students are now eligible for special grant programs, and the same is planned for Russian students who desire to study in Iran. There are agreements with seven Iranian universities covering academic exchange and joint research. In particular, problems of Muslim law and Muslim banking in Russia were discussed during this visit.

It was also revealed that Iranian institutions are so interested in Kazan University because Iranian students and academics have very little trouble of adjusting to everyday life in Tatarstan because of many familiar aspects of local culture and customs.

The final decisions on start dates and the number of students will be made soon.
