This new consultative body was established in December 2015.

The Council unites several senior members of the faculty renowned for their teaching experience and research performance. Having been present during the last decades of the University’s history, they can offer invaluable and impartial opinions about current issues and developments.

Chairman of the Council Albert Aganov (Chair of the Department of Medical Physics) suggested that the Council discuss the most pressing problems and methods of dealing with them. Moreover, the Council will also participate in supporting the senior staff of the University in their everyday life. It is also possible that a specialized financial fund for this particular purpose is going to appear at some point in the future.

The members of the standing workgroup of the Council, beside Albert Aganov, are Ildar Tarkhanov (Research Consultant at the Faculty of Law), Yury Konoplyov (ex-Rector of KFU, currently Chair of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics), Yakov Grishin (Head of the School of International Relations and Oriental Studies), and Chief Specialist of the Analytical Office Nayil Zamov.
