The Agreement of Academic and Scientific Cooperation between Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Computer Simulation and Visualization Laboratory of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) was signed on November, 2.

For reference. The Kazan Federal University delegation includes: Rector Ilshat Gafurov, Vice-Rector for Economic and Strategic Development Marat Safiullin, Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev, Director of Institute of Computer Mathematics and Information Technologies Rustam Latypov, Director of Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems Ayrat Khasyanov. They are accompanied by KFU Doctor Honoris, a member of Board of Trustees, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, RAS academician, Director of International Tomography Center of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Renad Sagdeev.

The parties agreed on cooperation in academic exchange, implementation of joint research and continuing learning programmes, organization of conferences, short courses and meetings.

The parties designated the responsible people to oversee the implementation of the agreed actions:  KFU Vice-Rector for Research Danis Nurgaliev and EPFL Professor Georges Abou Jaoudé (Computer Simulation and Visualization Laboratory).

The delegation members also visited EPFL PSE (Science Park).
