Kazan University Continues Activities at BRICS Events

Vice-Rector Linar Latypov participated in two BRICS forums in Moscow – educational and technological.

One of them was «Russian-Chinese Roundtable on Cooperation in Technology and Innovation: International Collaboration in Building the Eurasian Land Bridge and the Eurasian Economic Union» which took place on October 27th.

Dr. Latypov commented, “Such meetings are good for raising the global awareness about Kazan University and establishing new research ties. Here we got acquainted with Chinese companies in laser tech, data storage, Big Data, new materials”.

October 27th saw the opening of the second event – BRICS Global University Summit.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of all BRICS countries – mainly rectors and vice-rectors. The summit was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science.

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the guests, “This forum reflects the high level of cooperation among our countries. The packed agenda, the wide range of discussed topics attest to the interest that our countries have in using the full potential of our expert communities and strengthening academic ties”.

Among the most important points of discussion was BRICS Network University. Vice-Minister of Education and Science Aleksandr Klimov said, “The agreement text is almost ready, and the signing is planned to take place in Moscow in November”.

Kazan University is an active participant of both BRICS Network University project and BRICS Universities League.
