The ceremony was joined by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Education and Science of Russia Dmitry Livanov.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov was among the attendees.

Minister Livanov mentioned that this is the 50th award ceremony. It is traditionally held before Teacher's Day in Russia (first Sunday of October). He emphasized that every finalist showed amazing results during regional preliminaries.

President Minnikhanov said that it's an honor for Kazan and Tatarstan to be hosting the ceremony. He wished everyone luck.

The right to host was given to Tatarstan thanks to the 2014 award winner – biology teacher Alla Golovenkina from Nurlat. This final welcomes 78 best teachers from all corners of Russia. During the contest they give a model lesson, present their educational projects, participate in a teachers' council meeting.

KFU lyceums also send their educators to the regional competition.
