PHARMA-2020 Federal Target Program Progression Discussed at KFU's Pharmaceutical Centre

KFU's researchers are keen on providing consumers with all the medications that are currently tested at the University's Pharmaceutical Centre.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov familiarized Interim President Rustam Minnikhanov and other guests with the current state of affairs in the process of PHARMA-2020 implementation at the University.

The target program allowed the University to refurbish and launch the Pharmaceutical Research Lab. The trial production line will soon be at work as well. The whole budget amounted to 629 mln rubles. The project includes all stages of medication research, testing, development and production.

Ilshat Gafurov informed that all the planned works were completed in time and the building is now ready for the equipment installation.

The 2700 sqm facility includes research labs, 2200 sqm of clean rooms (C, D grade according to GMP classification), a microbiology lab and over 150 units of equipment.

All the tech here is up to date and conforms to the highest world standards. Project team leader Yury Shtyrlin said that antineoplastic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial medications will be the focus of attention. Some of the newly developed drugs will be able to serve as import substitutions.

Notes

The Centre is currently working as a government contractor on an antineoplastic project and an antibacterial project. Two more are expected to launch this year. The projects are approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Education and Science.

Two improved versions of popular anti-inflammatory gels will be in production by the end of 2015. The production will take place at "Tatchempharmpreparaty", one of Russia's leading pharmaceutical enterprises.
