It's great to realize, that the hometown has something of the best throughout nation. So, according to the ranking of European Union Kazan Federal University was estimated as 8th best university in Russia. European experts assessed 1.2 thousand universities around the globe, including 25 representing our country.
According to Vice-Rector for Economic and Strategic Development Marat Safiullin, U-Multirank-2015 ranking methods differ from the others in the way that universities aren't lined up according to their indicators:
“It is more likely to be a particular reference book about all universities in the world, which allows comparing them on different characteristics. The results are given as a letter grade (rank groups A through E, with A expressing “very good” and E “weak” performance), for each of the indicators in the rankings: (1) teaching and learning, (2) research, (3) knowledge transfer, (4) international orientation and (5) regional engagement”.
The highest scores obtained by KFU were for research, knowledge transfer and international orientation.
Overall rank group of Russian universities has KFU on the 8th position, while the list is topped by M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
