Kazan Professor Ravil Nigmatullin wins Zaslavsky Award. Congratulations!

This happened at the 4th Conference on Linear and Complex Systems (NSC-2012) in Budapest.

Professor Nigmatullin, as noted by the selection committee, made his personal substantial contribution to the development of this field. He found the physical meaning of fractional integral, has developed and continues to develop with his students the theory of dielectric relaxation based on fractional kinetics. Moreover, he has found new solutions of Prony tasks for strongly correlated systems. In addition to these achievements, the selection committee also noted the general indicators of his academic performance. The total number of references to the works of Professor Nigmatullin (more than 180 publications, one monograph and review) exceeds 1200, and his personal Hirsch index is 17.

The mentioned branch of physics is on the rise today, and the number of researchers from different countries is growing rapidly, and thus is reflected in the subject of reports to be submitted to the conference. This area of research originally arose from a consideration of the phenomenon of dynamical chaos in nonlinear mechanical systems, but significantly expanded its borders and began to study nonlinear phenomena described by the equations in whole and fractional derivatives for a broad class of complex systems.

The next – 5th - conference will be held in China, in the city of Xi'an in 2014.
