KFU wins a four-year grant from European Commission

As a member of the Consortium consisting of 9 European and 10 Russian universities Kazan University was awarded funding for the multilateral mobility project.

Project “EU-Russia: Towards Modern and Innovative Higher Education” (AURORA) until July 2016 with the budget of 3.7 million Euros is part of Erasmus Mundus Action 2. Since 2008, KFU has been participating in Project “Integration, Interaction and Institutions”, TRIPLE I, coordinated by the University of Turku. In the course of implementing this initial project, the participants applied for a new extended project involving 5 more Russian and 3 European universities.

As in TRIPLE I KFU proved to be an active and reliable partner, it is appointed to be a co-coordinator performing the functions of the national (Russian) coordinator. This is the next step towards a new generation of European programs to be launched in 2014 such as “Erasmus for All” и “Horizon 2020”, where Russian universities in certain subprograms could function as applicants (grant holders).

Participation in the project would be for undergraduate, master and graduate students as well as faculty members with the total of 236 grants to be awarded for individual mobility. The program will be open for applications later this autumn.
