KFU runs International seminar 'Biomedicine, Bioeconomics and Ecology'

This event was organized by three projects of Erasmus Mundus Action2: Aurora, Eranet Plus and IAMONET-RU supported by the European Commission.

The seminar participants were scholars and project participants from Russia and European countries: Poland, Germany, Great Britain, Finland and Spain. The main goal of the seminar was to exchange the best practices and experience in organizing mobility projects between the Russian and European universities, accumulated during the network projects - Aurora, Eranet Plus and IAMONET-RU.

 

The seminar consists of three sessions, where leading researchers have presented their reports. Scholars had an opportunity to visit laboratories and research centers of Kazan Federal University.

The seminar opening and the first session were held on November, 27 at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology.

Director of Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, M.D., PhD, head of the Departament of Cancer Biology, Richard G. Pestell, actively participated in the seminar.

Representative of the University of Turku (Finland), Mari Leno, undergoing a traineeship at KFU, told about her university postgraduate programs.       

 

On November, 28 Institute of Management, Economics and Finance hosted a session on Bioeconomics and prepared in collaboration with the University of Guggenheim (Shtutgardt, Germany). This day was made an open presentation of the European mobility projects - Aurora, Eranet Plus and IAMONET-RU - during which all participants had an opportunity to ask questions regarding the organization of mobility projects.

Kazan University participates in the Erasmus Mundus programs (Triple i, Aurora, Aurora II) since 2008. The main purpose of the program is to promote cooperation and academic mobility between the partner universities (10 European and 12 Russian universities). Coordinator of the program is the University of Turku, Finland.

Aurora II program enables doctorate, post-doctoral, academic and administrative staff to temporary enroll to various mobility periods in one of the European universities participating in the program: University of Turku, Finland, University of Bologna, Italy, University of Deusto, Spain, University of Groningen, the Netherlands, Humboldt University Berlin, Germany, University of Latvia, Latvia, University of Leuven, Belgium, Masaryk University, Czech Republic, University of Tartu, Estonia, University of Warsaw, Poland.
