The article presents a brief review of modern Russian and Tatar research on the structure of a simple sentence. The author’s classification of simple sentences based grammatical categories include 52 models оf Tatar simple unextended sentences: 50 of the models are free, 2 of them are phraseological models, 32 of the models are two-member structures, 18 are made of one-member structure.
