Evgeni Magid, head of the Department of Intelligent Robotics at the ITIS Institute, spoke about the future of robotics, the modern education system at KFU and international cooperation

— Evgeni Arkadyevich, what is the relevance of the new master’s program?

— Let me give you an example: two years ago we were looking for specialists for the laboratory and sent a request to different organizations. Many sent the answer: “We don’t have those.” One of the Skolkovo resident robotics companies responded: “If such a specialist were even on the labor market, we would hire him and pay him twice as much as you can afford.” The fact is that the most terrible thing in Russia today is personnel “hunger.” The next 5 years will see an almost complete absence of robotics experts. Our task is to fill this niche with high-quality graduates.

Why do you need a master's degree?
(Interview with student Kamil Khusnutdinov)

"I completed my bachelor's degree at Institute of ITIS of KFU. The question of whether to study further or not did not even arise before me. For me, a master's degree is a logical continuation of a bachelor's degree. Without it, I consider education incomplete.

The choice of master's degree in Intelligent Robotics was spontaneous. I wanted to come here after a meeting with Evgeni Magid, where he spoke about the new program for masters".

Getting an education in the field of robotics now means becoming a sought-after and well-paid specialist in the future.

We talked with Roman Lavrenov, Associate Professor at Laboratory of Intelligent Robotic Systems at Institute of ITIS, about why go to learn how to program robots and why ITIS will help you with this best.
