Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the 90th birth anniversary of Yulduz Galimzhanovna Nigmatullina,   Distinguished Professor of Kazan University, Honored Researcher of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation. She is a worldwide famous philologist, who contributed greatly to the development of the Kazan Literary School and created its national branch on the systemic and complex study of literature. A brief review of Yu.G. Nigmatullina's major achievements and her contacts with foreign philologists (from Germany and Switzerland to China) was given. The basic ideas expressed by Yu.G. Nigmatullina were discussed: the phenomenon of multidisciplinarity, starting with the study of an aesthetic ideal in the 1960s–1970s to the formation of a school of systemic and complex investigation of the  literary culture of different epochs; and the synthesis of literature and painting in the 2000s–2010s. Yu.G. Nigmatullina's main publications were listed. A number of works written by Yu.G. Nigmatullina were translated into foreign languages; they are still of great interest in Russia and abroad.
