Dear Colleagues and Friends!

In the name of the Organizing Committee we would like to invite you for participation in the 3rd International Conference Environment and Sustainable Development of Territories: Ecological Challenges of the 21st Century, which will take place in Kazan, Russia 27–29 September 2017.

Registration for the III international conference "Environment and sustainable development of regions: environmental challenges of the 21 century" for internal participation with the report and the correspondence participation will be closed on June 5. Registration without report will be open for internal participation till August 27.

Following the results of the conference the special issue of the journal IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES) included in systems of citing Web of Science and Scopus will be published. Submission of articles for the publication in special issue of the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES) will be continued up to August, 15. Obligatory condition of the publication of article is internal participation in a conference. Manus­cript submission rules are provided here.

The Conference is devoted to the Year of Ecology declared in Russia, and is organized by Kazan Federal University, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in collaboration with Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy of the National Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tatarstan branch of the Russian Geographical Society.

The Conference is expected to become the platform for the coordination of efforts and developments in the area of environmental conditions study, revealing the strategic areas of research, the ways of communication with state authorities and organisations in the real sector of economy.

Matters of current interest in the following areas will be discussed:

• Global Pollution, Environmental Impact Management, Ecological Risks and Sustainable Development;
• Geoecology and Exodynamic Processes;
• Climate Change, Macrocirculation Processes and the Ecology of Atmosphere. This section is devoted to the 205th anniversary of meteorological observations in Kazan University and the 95th anniversary of the Department of Geophysics (Department of Meteorology, Climatology and Atmospheric Environment);
• Strategies for Biological Resources Protection and Optimization;
• Mathematical Methods and GIS Technologies in Ecology and Management of Natural Resources;
• Soil and Land Resources, their Conservation and Efficient Management, and Food Safety;
• Social, Economic and Ecological Aspects of Urban Territories Development Analysis and Management;
• Practical Aspects of Hydrometeorological and Ecological Safety;
• Potential of living organisms for soil quality improvement.

More than 500 researches and practicing employees took part in the previous conference. We hope that the Conference 2017 will become a dramatic event for our colleagues all over the world. Participation in the Conference is not just a possibility to meet specialists working in your area of research and share the experience, but it is also a chance to see your old friends. Take that chance!

We would like to inform you that the academic Committee of the Conference plans to provide awards for the best oral and poster presentations.
