Nowruz was celebrated in Kazan Federal University on March, 27. The event was organized by KFU Council of International Students and Postgraduates with the support of External Relations Office and Office on Youth Policy.
Nowruz is the name of ancient national holiday of Turkic and Iranian peoples. It symbolizes the beginning of New Year, harmony of people and nature.
The event gathered representatives of more than 15 countries. Its program contained national dances, songs, and trivia game on 210-th anniversary of Kazan Federal University. The winner of the trivia is Kristina Yakovleva (Macedonia).
The program was followed by the awards ceremony for the international students who take active part in social and cultural life of the university as well as sampling of national dishes.
