Fulbright Presents its Programs at KFU

Director of the Fulbright Program in Russia Joel Ericson visited KFU on March, 25. He made a presentation of Fulbright programs for Russian citizens in academic year 2015-2016.

The Fulbright Program founded by Senator J. William Fulbright has been working in Russia for more than 40 years. The solid foundations for bilateral cooperation within the Program date back to 1973 when 6 Soviet and 6 US scholars received grants on research and delivering lectures.

During 40 years of continuous work the Fulbright Program in Russia provided 1800 Russian professors, teachers and young specialists with an opportunity to continue education and to undertake an internship. About 140 people visit leading US universities annually.

J. Ericson mentioned that Fulbright office tries to keep a regional, gender and subject balance while distributing places between graduates and academic staff. The competition in more than 10 directions is all-Russian.

The main eligibility requirements are: Russian citizenship, fluency in English, evidence of residence in Russia. Each program has certain age limits and other specific requirements.
