Ministry of Education and Science and Association of Leading Universities Discussed Approaches To Universities Efficiency

On January, 30 was held a general meeting of the Association of Federal Universities, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University, national research universities (Association of Leading Universities) under chairmanship of Rector of Saint Petersburg State University. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Education and Science of Russian Federation Dmitriy Livanov. The agenda issue was discussion of approaches and indicators of universities efficiency evaluation in 2014.

 

Rectors discussed methods and criteria applied in evaluating universities efficiency. During the meeting were elaborated offers for further criteria upgrading. There was also mentioned the necessity of recording regions specificity that have various indicators of economic activity and structure of educational network.

Leading universities proposed to unify approaches to evaluation of universities and branches activity. According to experts this will allow universities to form appropriate priorities of development and optimization of branch network. There was also approved the need for introducing additional indicator that considers personnel potential of universities and branches.

Meeting participants noted the significance of upgrading the recording methods of alumni employment. It was offered to Association working group to analyze and develop concrete proposals to estimate this indicator.
