Professor Nazif Shahrani is Uzbek with the US citizenship who specializes in Islam problems. Namely this outstanding scientist visited Kazan University.

For over five days Kazan University hosted globally famous scholar, Professor, Director of Program of Middle East and Islam research, Chairman of the Faculty of Middle East and Cultures of the University of Indiana (Bloomington, USA). Nazif Shahrani delivered lectures to students, teaching staff and listeners. His lectures were devoted to Anthropology and Ethnography and were spoken in English with simultaneous interpretation.
