On July, 1 was held the ceremony of hoisting the national flag of the Russian team. FISU President, Claude-Louis Gallien, FISU First Vice-President, President of Russian Student Sports Union, Oleg Matytsin as well as athletes who will vindicate honor of Russia attended the ceremony.

Russian national team will be numerous, it will include 663 athletes. About 100 Russian athletes had arrived in Kazan by the evening of July,1. Flag of the Russian National Team was hoisted the first on the Alley of Flags in the Universiade Village. Ceremonies of hoisting flags of other countries-participants will be held up to July, 6.
