The proposal was voiced by a HNU delegation in Kazan on October 6th.

Hunan Normal University is not only one of the oldest international partners of KFU but also the supervisor of KFU Confucius Institute (established in 2007). During the yesterday’s meeting the guests suggested opening a satellite university with offices in Russia and China. This institution will be in charge of double diploma programs and academic exchange. Another proposal concerned the Confucius Institute. Chinese colleagues want to celebrate the Institute’s 10th anniversary in 2017 with an international conference where all Confucius Institutes of Russia will be represented.

Rector Ilshat Gafurov supported both ideas and opined that future master programs may follow the 1+1 schedule (1 year of studies in China and 1 in Russia). He also offered to hold more joint summer schools in Kazan and to stimulate cooperation in publications.

In his further notes Rector Gafurov mentioned the importance of merging education, science, and industry in the University's progress. Medicine Is now the object of special attention. During this week the guests will visit all the major facilities of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology and get a closer look at the new Strategic Academic Unit “7P Translational Medicine”.

Party Secretary of HNU Li Min said, among other things, “Cooperation with Kazan University is very important to us. I want to use this opportunity to congratulate everyone on the Teachers’ Day”.
