The event is organized in collaboration with the Russian-speaking Academic Science Association.

The full title of the conference is «Translational Medicine: Present and Future». KFU’s employees joined RASA just last year when Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology Andrey Kiyasov presented the Institute’s translational medicine projects to Minister of Education and Science of Russia Dmitry Livanov and RASA’s representatives. Not long after that meeting a RASA-KFU Joint Center was established.

During today's opening ceremony Rector Ilshat Gafurov and President of RASA Nikolay Vasilyev signed a partnership agreement.

Rector Gafurov presented a brief overview of medical education and research at the University. He mentioned the top-notch facilities, such as the Simulation Center and the University Clinic, that have become grounds for the transfer of scientific products into practice.

He also talked about the new strategic academic unit (titled «7P Translational Medicine») and new transdisciplinary curricula for professional education in healthcare.

Dr. Vasilyev praised the University’s choice of priorities. He mentioned that KFU’s program presentation in Washington, D. C. in March 2016 was definitely the strongest.

In the course of the conference on May 24th – 25th scientists from the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Austria, and Russia will present their reports. Many of them are current employees of the KFU’s research units.
