Kazan University Plans to Cooperate with Egyptian Russian University

Yesterday, August 12, Rector Ilshat Gafurov, First Vice-Rector Riaz Minzaripov and  Vice-Rector for International Relations Linar Latypov greeted Rector of Egyptian Russian University Prof. Sherif M.Helmy

The meeting touched future cooperation between the universities.   “It is important to find partners for joint research and specialist training”, mentioned Ilshat Gafurov while presenting alma mater, and Elabuga and Naberezhnye Chelny branches in particular.

“We set a goal to produce catalysts commercially viable in the world”, stated Gafurov and afterwards presented a recently established Catalyz-Prom LLP highlighting that real economy demands for research inventions.

According to Sherif Helmy, the union with Kazan University is of a special value for the institution, because KFU trains specialists in all areas of his interest. “Egyptian Russian University embodies three faculties: engineering, pharmacy and dentistry”, shared Professor Helmy, “To find a suitable partner in Russia developing these areas simultaneously is quite challenging, and Kazan University is offering precisely biomedicine and pharmaceutics, engineering and even dentistry”.

Gafurov and Helmy discussed potential student and staff exchange. The last also invited KFU specialists to participate in the held by ERU annual international conference on nanotechnology.
