During the meeting with Linar Latypov, Vice Rector for International Relations, Dmitry Tayursky, Vice Rector for Education and others, Mr. Birang announced the current position of his country on the cooperation with Russia in research and education.

Last year representatives of both nations made calls on a very high level, what originated Russian-Iran High Council of Cooperation with several specific working groups. A particular working group will monitor execution of project between Iran and Tatarstan. Therefore, the aim of Iranian delegation's visitation was to see the progress of the agreements reached.

Last year Ilshat Gafurov travelled to Iran to discuss possible collaboration with leading R&E centers of Iran, in particular with Shahid Beheshti University. This includes short-term Russian language courses for Iranian students started at KFU, academic exchange and internships for students, and seminars on Islamic banking that were held by an invited specialist from Iran. Besides that, KFU cooperates with Tarbiat Modares University, National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnologies, Imam Khomeini International University, Saadi Fund.

The cooperation with aforementioned institutions is carried out in the field of fundamental medicine and biology, IT, physics, and petroleum technologies. However Mr. Birang thinks that there is more to come.
