In anticipation of the New Year, the students of the Institute of Physics have summed up the results of the first semester of the 2015-2016 academic year and have set new objectives for the next one. They did it in the form of colorful new year cards, where they recollected the most exciting memorable moments of the classes and workshops and described what they would like to repeat or add, but also did not forget to congratulate each other and their teacher with upcoming holidays.
The most interesting and useful thing for some of them was writing funny and horror stories, copying dialogues with different intonation and recording them, making films about native towns, singing songs, playing board games, tic-tac-toe, playing role games, making performances, writing essays, making presentations, whereas other students liked watching films, doing morning exercises, being a tutor, doing crosswords, working in pairs and in teams, dictating texts by memory to their partner correcting mistakes, learning texts by heart and copying them on the board in chain, writing audio dictations, interpreting.
Besides, the students of the Institute of Physics pointed out that during the semester they had a lot of educational activities and events organized. For example, they celebrated Halloween, wrote wishes to their teachers, spoke about healthy lifestyle (sport and healthy diet), discussed relationships between people (found out why they value each other), tried to learn how to be successful (watched and discussed speeches of well-known successful people).
Let's see what students think about it. "This semester was really memorable. I remember a lot of interesting games like TIC TAC toe, a final game. I liked English jokes as well." "We had an opportunity to put ourselves in different shoes: tourists, tutors, interpreters... Thank you for interesting lessons, for contribution to our development. You are a great teacher!" "During this semester I learnt a lot of new rules and words. I liked our work in teams and carrying out different tasks together!" "I find singing songs, staging scenes for Halloween, games like at the airport the most interesting and useful. Thank you for creating a funny and positive atmosphere at classes!" "I hope you know that you are our best teacher! We celebrated different holidays, got to know a lot about each other. But the most memorable for me was going to the cinema!" "I'll never forget our funny games. Without these English classes I’d never try to be a tutor. It made me more organized and reliable." "This semester was difficult and interesting at the same time. We played board games, sang songs, copied texts, watched films. In fact, we had a great time! I wish you always be positive and happy. Just remember that all of us love you!)))”
Thus, this final class turned out to be useful both for students, who saw all the variety of English classes and how much work they had done, and the teacher who drew the conclusion and outlined plans for the next semester.
