Welcome to the Faculty of Philosophy

Faculty of philosophy is one of the youngest faculties of the KFU.

It was founded in 2007 on the basis of one of the oldest departments of the university – the department of philosophy. In 2008 the  department of political sciences, teaching specialists in the sphere of political sciences, became the part of the faculty. TGPI and KFEI joined KFU, and after this the faculty of philosophy was enhanced by the specialists of the departments of philosophy and political sciences of these two institutions of higher education. Now there are 6 departments at the faculty: General Philosophy, Social Philosophy,  Religion Studies, Political Science, Conflict Resolution Studies, and Anthropology of Philosophy; they prepare specialists in the following specialities: “Philosophy”, “Religion Studies”, “Political Science”, “Conflict Resolution Studies” (Bachelor’s programme); “Philosophy”, “Religion Studies” (Master’s programme). In 2013 the faculty is going to open admission to the specialization “Theology”.  Faculty of philosophy takes the key place in the structure of the classical institution of higher education. Faculty gives fundamental education in the Humanities that allows to graduates to prove themselves in different professional spheres. The faculty tries to combine fundamental academic education with applied  researches. Graduates of the faculty of philosophy work in government institutions (State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan), information and analysis agencies and departments of big companies, Mass Media.

Today the number of students of the faculty of philosophy is over 500.

87% of teachers of the faculty have the scientific degree. 60 teachers work at the faculty, including 3 Associate Members of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, 11 professors, 38 assistant professors. Students and teachers of the faculty undertake regular internship in the leading institutions of higher education of Europe and the USA.
