Interdepartmental Radiology Lab was opened in 1956 under the Department of Plant Physiology. It was then, when for the first time in Kazan, Carbon-14 dating method was implemented for biochemistry and biophysics of living objects. 

Currently, there are practical lessons and experiments being conducted by staff from all departments using radiology methods along with other ones, e.g. fluorescent microscopy, control of genetic modifications formation using radioactive labeling.
