1. Initial Migration Registration

Foreign nationals arriving to study (courses, internship etc.) in Kazan must within 24 hours of their arrival (excluding weekends and holidays) present the following documents at the Kazan Federal University Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office (Mira Ave, 68/19 (1/18), office 278): copy of passport, copy of the migration card and copy of the entrance visa obtained with an invitation from KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute. At this point the registration is made for the validity period of the entrance visa.

2. Obtaining a Multi-entry Visa

Minimum of 30 days before the expiration of the entry visa and initial migration registration foreign national shall present at the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office the following documents: passport, migration card, copy of the contract for education or confirmation of the Russian Federation scholarship, copy of the enrollment letter (for first-year students), confirmation of education from the institute/faculty (for continuing students), valid medical insurance, receipt of the state duty payment (1600 RUR) and four photographs (3Х4).

The multi-entry visa is issued for the whole period of studies, but nevertheless maximum for one year at a time.

After being issued a multi-entry visa, the foreign national’s migration registration is extended for the validity period of the multi-entry visa.

3. Prolonging a Visa

In order to obtain or prolong a multi-entry visa the following documents must be presented at the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office (Mira Ave, 68/19 (1/18), office 278, minimum 30 days before the expiration of the previous visa: passport, migration card, copy of the contract for education or confirmation of the Russian Federation scholarship, copy of the enrollment letter (for first-year students), confirmation of education from the institute/faculty (for continuing students), valid medical insurance, receipt of the state duty payment and necessary amount of photographs.

4. Change of Place of Residence

In case of change of the place of residence (also within the student dormitories) a foreign national is required to inform the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office about this within two days and register his/her residing in the new address.

5. Change of Migration Status

In case of receiving a residence permit or citizenship of the Russian Federation, the foreign national must notify the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office about this within 24 hours by presenting the relevant documents.

The Institute does not deal with matters concerning the change of migration status.

6. Validity Period of National Passport

In case of expiration of the validity period of the national passport the foreign national must extend or renew his/her passport in time, or leave the territory of the Russian Federation. The KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office must be informed about any of these actions. After extending or renewing his/her passport the foreign national is obliged to present the new passport at the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office for making changes on the visa, migration card and other documents.

A valid passport is required for issuing and prolonging a multi-entry visa, as well as for migration registration.

7. Loss of Documents

In case of loss of documents (national passport, visa or migration card) a foreign national must immediately contact the nearest police station in order to file a report, and also inform the KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute International Office about the incident.

8. Removal from the Migration Register

When a foreign national crosses the Russian border or is registered in another place during a trip within Russia, his/her registration in Naberezhnye Chelny is removed from the register, this is why the migration registration procedure is repeated every time after a person comes back to Naberezhnye Chelny from abroad or from a trip within Russia, during which he/she has been registered at a hotel, health care facility etc.

9. Completing Studies

After completing their studies at KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute or being dismissed from the Institute, the foreign national is obliged to leave the territory of the Russian Federation in accordance with the time limits set by the legislation. The tickets must be bought in advance. Validity periods of visas of the Institute graduates will not be extended for reasons not connected with studies or other reasons prescribed by the law.

The Institute is not responsible for migration registration of friends and relatives of the foreign national studying at KFU Naberezhnye Chelny Institute.

10. Health Care for Foreign Nationals

Health care services for foreign nationals are organized on the basis of an optional medical insurance, cost of which is covered by the foreign national themselves. Foreign nationals are required to take the optional medical insurance.

11. Working

Foreign nationals’ right to work is regulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

12. Responsibility of Foreign Nationals

Foreign nationals, who commit a crime or an administrative or other offense within the territory of the Russian Federation, bear responsibility for them on the same grounds as citizens of the Russian Federation.

The following sanctions may be imposed for violation of the migration regulations of the Russian Federation for foreign nationals: fine, administrative expulsion, deportation according to the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
