Department of physics of molecular systems conducts:

The history of the Department of Physics of Molecular Systems begins with the organization of the Department of Physics of Thermal and Molecular Phenomena at Kazan University in 1949 under the leadership of Professor A.I. Shafigullin, and then S.A. Abrukov.

In 1967, the head of the department became Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, prof. AI Maklakov, who headed it until 1994. In connection with the emergence of a new specialization "Physics of Polymers" the name of the department is changed to the department of molecular physics.
Since 1994 the department is headed by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Skirda V.D. During this period, the department expanded the area of scientific interests and applications. The new name of the department is the Department of Physics of Molecular Systems.
