Laboratory of Archeology and Ethnography

Laboratory of Archeology and Ethnography at Elabuga Institute of KFU was founded on October 15, 2007 at the Department for General and National History.

Laboratory staff have experience in the field of archaeological survey, exploration and excavation of archaeological sites.

Laboratory of Archeology and Ethnography is successfully working on the arrangement of field archaeological expeditions in various regions of the Republic of Tatarstan.

A library on archaeological topics was founded at the laboratory, and a scientific students’ archaeological circle functions. Based on the materials stored in the laboratory's funds, students write scientific papers and participate in conferences of various statuses. The members of the circle are permanent participants and prize-winners of the International Ural-Volga Archaeological Conference of Students and Young Scientists (UPASK).

The laboratory's activities are aimed at the implementation of the following tasks:

• carrying out research work under the programs of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, and other scientific programs of the Russian Federation, regional scientific programs, international scientific programs;

• development of scientific research in the structural unit;

• establishment of scientific contacts and scientific and technical cooperation with educational and scientific institutions of Russia, near and far abroad;

• practical testing and implementation of the results obtained in the practice of enterprises, organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership and fields of activity;

• assistance in the preparation of students in the areas of work of the Institute (faculty);

• assistance in improving the qualifications of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel;

• introduction of the results obtained into the educational process in the areas of training students;

• familiarizing talented students studying in relevant specialties to scientific research in the early stages of education.
