Scientific and Educational Center of Tatar and Turkic studies, and ethno-cultural education created by the decision of the Academic Council of Kazan (Volga region) Federal University in 2011. Center aims to comprehensive and profound study of the problems of Tatar and Turkic studies, Tatar literature and folklore, theory and methods of teaching the Tatar language, ethno-cultural education, musical folklore of Tatars, the peoples of the Volga region in the theoretical and practical directions.
- Holding scientific and educational activities: seminars, conferences, round tables;
- Accumulation of folklore material on the base of personal archives of the Republic and the Volga region folklorists, preparation for release of folk songs collections, word processing, arranging musical material and a computer set, restoration and reconstruction of traditional musical instruments of the peoples of the Volga region;

REC of socio-cultural and polilinguistic researches

Scientific and Educational Center of Multicultural Education was created in January 2011 and it is an independent structural unit of TSHPU.
The Goal of creating the scientific and educational center of socio-cultural and polilinguistic researches - implementation of innovative scientific and educational projects:
- "Developing and implementing multi-level system of training for Humanities and artistic specializations to work in a multiethnic and multicultural environment";
- "Developing and implementing didactic systems and technologies of polilinguistic and multicultural training."

The main areas of work:
- The formation and implementation of an integrated system that includes researches, development of teaching kits, training of the teaching staff and the implementation of the experimental work in the field of polilinguistic and multicultural education;
- Implementation of scientific-research programs and projects;
- Work to improve the functionality of the official languages ​​of the Republic of Tatarstan in connection with the needs of the education system;
- Carrying out research work on the theory and practice of multicultural, polilinguistic education in the Volga region;
- Promoting the training of young scientists and specialists working on the subject of the Centre;
- Creation and support of an intensive and effective scientific and educational environment through scientific and educational activities;
- Forecasting the development of professional, pedagogical and general education in the Republic of Tatarstan;
- Organization of conferences, seminars and meetings on topical issues of multicultural education development.
