International School Teachers Festival opened at KFU Yelabuga Institute

On August 12, KFU Yelabuga Institute hosted the opening ceremony of the 5th International School Teachers Festival.

The ceremony was attended by Ilshat Gafurov, KFU Rector, Engel Fattakhov, Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan, Tatiana Kupriyanova, Deputy Chair of Russian Education, Academic and Research Workers Labour Union, and Yury Prokhorov, Chair of Regional Committee for Academic and Research Workers Labour Union.

Ilshat Gafurov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and spoke on the changes the Kazan University undertakes and its development in the next few years.  

- School Teachers Festival is growing from year to year; it is onwards and upwards, the Rector said, first it was a regional event, then national, and today it is an international festival with the growing number of participants, this 5th edition gathered 500 teachers.

Tatiana Kupriyanova, Deputy Chair of Russian Education, Academic and Research Workers Labour Union, wished the participants to fruitfully work at the Festival and stressed that general teacher salary growth could positively affect teaching results. She thanked the organizing committee of the event, professing to feel at home in Tatarstan and Yelabuga in particular.

The official ceremony was followed by music performances, headlining by Yazilya Mukhametova, KFU graduate participated in Russian Voice Contest.  

At the end of the ceremony Elena Merzon, Director of KFU Yelabuga Institute, thanked the participants of the School Teachers Festival, a major project aimed to improve education system and expand the cooperation of school teachers and university professors.
