KFU participating in a new project for applicants – Universities of the Future

"System" Charity Funding launches a new project “Universities of the Future” as a part of All-Russian program "Lift to the Future”. The project is aimed at applicants and their parents and consists of a series of bright and instructive video reports about Russian universities, and what education and career perspectives are ahead of future students of various Russian universities.

The project is developed and implemented with the government support, the grant of the President of the Russian Federation dated 29.03.2013 № 115-рп awarded in the contest organized by the All-Russian Social Organization “Russian Youth Union”.

The key goal of the project is to promote and popularize technical and engineering professions of capital and regional universities. The project aims to highlight the activity of regional universities, describe technical faculties that prepare experts in accordance with the world tendencies in the integration of science, education, and production.

Video reports describe the history of foundation and development of universities, their specific and competitive advantages of technical majors. The short but concise footage includes key information about a university: key figures (number of government-financed positions, and passing grade), information about the Open Day, interviews with professors and students).  

The ‘Universities of the Future’ project invites the faculties of Russia’s leading research and technology universities that conduct applied researches to support the innovative development of the country. At the first stage they have chosen eight faculties implementing innovative educational programmes in key Moscow and regional universities.

About the Universities of the Future project

The Universities of the Future project introduces eight video presentations of Russian universities conducting groundbreaking researches and training experts of new generation. Video presentations enable applicants to rapidly receive information about a university’s facilities, its uniqueness, perspectives of certain technology departments, and admission rules.

Moscow universities:

1. Moscow State University (Faculty of Chemistry)

2. Moscow State University of Railway Engineering

3. Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering 

Regional universities:

1. Kazan Federal University (Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology)

2. Saratov State University (Faculty of Nano and Biomedical Technologies)

3. Bashkir State University (Faculty of Physics)

4. Kant Russian State University (Institute of Chemistry and Biology)

5. Yaroslav State University (faculty of Physics)

Workshops is an essential part of education in all Universities of the Future.  There is a centre of Macro and Nanostructures Analysis based in Yaroslavl State University where students can learn how to work at the unique analytical facilities. Kazan University is organizing an innovative network of small enterprises; Saratov University equipped its laboratories with the newest world-class facilities; Moscow University of Mechanical Engineering is developing  effective prototypes of cars and other  equipment; Moscow University of Railway Engineering ensures students’ internship in best foreign logistics companies; Bashkir University has created a techno park  where key industrial processes are fully simulated, and experts are specially trained for certain enterprises’ needs; the MSU Faculty of Chemistry produces test samples of new medicine.  Here, like in all well-known world universities theory goes along with practice.
