KFU took 500+ position in Academic Ranking of World Universities. Only seven Russian universities were included into the ranking.

The first goes Moscow State University (79th position). St. Petersburg University shared 301-401 position. Together with KFU top 500+ included Voronezh State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Novosibirsk State University, and Ural Federal University.

Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is the most prestigious world universities ranking released by the experts of the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is based on the comparative analysis of scientific research activity of universities and shows them first of all as research establishments rather than educational institutions. The organizers of the Shanghai ranking annually inquire Global Research University Profiles. The 2013 ranking covered 1200 world research universities.

500+ position means that our university hasn't got into the top 500 by the aggregate of all factors, but has achieved globally noticeable success in some parametres.
