The Ambassador of Egypt in Russia: 'I am Interested in Helping Our Universities with Cooperation Development'

Today, on the 11th of June, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the RF, Mr. Mohammed Elbadri, visited Kazan Federal University.

The honoured guest was accompanied by the President of KFU, Mr. Myakzyum Salakhov.

Recall that on the 6th of June ambassadors of Arab League Members visited KFU. The guests made a trip to Universiade Village and laboratory complexes of the Institute of Physics, Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology and Institute of Geology and Petroleum Technologies. Today’s meeting is a continuation of a series of private visits made by ambassadors of Arab countries to our University with the view of a more detailed familiarization.

Mr. Mohammed Elbadri was given an excursion in the Museum of History of Kazan University. Then he shared his impressions of the University: “I came here with the understanding of richness of your history,” he said. “I have many missions; particularly, my interest is to help universities of Egypt and Russia to establish contacts and develop cooperation. Today I made a trip two hundred years back in history, and I am very impressed by Kazan University, which was glorified by such persons as Tolstoy, Lobachevskiy. I hope that my today’s visit will facilitate our relations development for the benefit of Egyptian and Russian universities.”

Reference information. Mohammed Abdessatar Elbadri has been working as a diplomat since 1989. At different times he was a member of Egyptian group for negotiations on partnership with EU, the first secretary of the Embassy of Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, officer for communication with NATO and European Parliament, counsellor to АРЕ Representative Office under the UN in charge of dialogue of civilizations, UN Human Rights Council. Before 2011 he was a minister counsellor of the Embassy of Arab Republic of Egypt in London; since 2011 Mr. Elbadri has been working as an assistant to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the ARE for cooperation with Arab countries. Mr. Elbadri knows English, Spanish and French. He is the author of a number of books on international relations history. The Ambassador has been rewarded with a Belgian Order of the Crown (officer, 2003).
