Kazan University visited delegation of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
During visit to Tatarstan the delegation met with President of the Tatarstan Republic, Prime-Minister of the Tatarstan Republic Ildar Khlikov, deputies of the State Council, took part in events dedicated to the inauguration of year “Kazan is the capital of the Turkic world-2014”, official evening commemorated to the 80th anniversary of Writers Union of RT and Tatar community. Visit to Kazan Federal University was very special for the delegation as the majority of guests were unaware of it.
KFU President cordially welcomed guests and made a presentation KFU Today. The delegation listened to him with great attention and asked the questions expressing interest in our University. President told about facilities, research work and achievements, pointing to living conditions for students in the University campus – the Universiade Village. When asking about the scholarship amount, the delegation members were surprised that our students receive only RUB 1.200, whereas Ukrainian students receive scholarship in the amount of RUB 3000. However, they remarked that our University provided more opportunities.
After the presentation guests had an excursion in the Museum of History. As a majority of listeners in the Memorial Lecture Hall, the delegation occupied the same places where Vladimir Lenin used to sit.
In the end of visit Nariman Jelyalov on behalf of all delegation members thanked the University administration, mentioned that they fell under the most pleasant impression. Moreover, he left a note in the Book of Honored Guests.
