KFU Student Took Part in the International Seminar 'A Dictionary without Boundaries: Florence in the Works of World Famous People'

A third-year student of KFU Branch in Chistopol, Mr. Roman Korolkov, took part in the International student seminar “A dictionary without boundaries: Florence in the works of world famous people”, which was held in Florence (Italy) from April 06 to April 13, 2014.

The objective of this project is to develop a multimedia dictionary in English, telling about a cultural heritage of Florence through biographies of world famous people, including those from Russia, who have ever lived and created masterpieces in this wonderful city. A personality chosen by Roman was Boris Pasternak.

The first day of the seven-day seminar was marked by an opening ceremony and students’ presentations of their native cities, universities and chosen personalities, about whom they had to find information in Florence. In the evening a meeting with Professor of Russian culture, Mr. Garzaniti, was held in the University of Florence. He familiarized guests with the University and emphasized that interest to the Russian language had been growing year after year. On the next day a presentation under the title “Tesoro della Lingua Italiana delle Origini – Treasure of the Original Italian Language” was made by Professor Cosimo Burgassi in Palazzo Coppini. Then students visited all famous galleries and museums of Florence (Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana; San Marco Museum; Accademia Gallery, Bargello Museum, Academia dei Georgofili, Uffici Gallery и Biblioteca Riccardiana, Biblioteca Marucelliana etc.), searching for information about personalities chosen by them.

On the last day of the seminar students presented results of their researches. Roman Korolkov was presented a Diploma for the best presentation of a chosen personality and Certificate of Seminar Participant.
