Rossotrudnichestvo and Kazan Federal University Have Signed Agreement on Cooperation

Agreement on Cooperation between Kazan Federal University and Rossotrudnichestvo was signed today, on April 8 by the KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Konstantin Kosachev.

The main directions of the Parties cooperation within the Agreement are: development of international cooperation in areas of education, culture and science; promotion of institutional partnerships between educational communities of Russia and foreign countries; fostering interest of foreigners towards Russia, its language, culture, history, educational system and getting higher education.

The signing ceremony was attended by the representatives of North-Caucasus Federal University, North-Eastern Federal University and the Finance and Technology Academy who made presentations of the research and educational potential of their institutions within the meeting.

In his turn, Konstantin Kosachev informed about Rossotrudnichestvo’s work on advancement of Russian education abroad with emphasis on recruitment of international students. The Head noted that the cooperation with universities is one of the Agency’s priority areas.

Reference: The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation, commonly known as Rossotrudnichestvo, was set up by Presidential decree #1315 on 6 September 2008. Farit Mukhametshin acted as its Head till 2012. On 5 March 2012 Russian diplomat and public official Konstantin Kosachev was appointed as the Head of Rosstrudnichestvo. The Agency is under the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Today Rossotrudnichestvo is presented in 77 countries by 59 Russian centers of science and culture. Its 18 representatives work within the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation.
