Technion – Israel Institute of Technology Enters into Partnership with Elabuga Institute

Elena Merzon, Director of KFU Elabuga Institute is on a business trip in Haifa (Israel). The program of her trip includes a visit to Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in order to discuss the student and academic staff exchange.

Reference. The Technion was founded in 1924. It was opened as a polytechnic institute; today more than 70% of those who work in Israel in the area of high technologies are Technion’s graduates. Aaron Ciechanover and Avram Hershko, Nobel-prize winners in chemistry, work here. Students study at 20 faculties on 36 specialties including biomedical engineering, molecular biology and programming. The Technion is well-known for its research in electronics, biotechnologies, IT, water resources management and aerospace engineering.

Due to Technion Israel is on the 2nd place after the Silicon Valley on concentration of high-tech start-ups. It is also ahead of USA on the number of scholars and engineers per capita.
