KFU Students and Postgraduates were Awarded State Scholarships of the Republic of Tatarstan

The Saturday of the 25th of January was rich in events. In addition to Tatyana’s Day celebration and celebration in honour of laureates of the annual prize Student-2013, one more event of no less importance was held in Kazan – an award presentation ceremony for students and postgraduates, who had got a Special state scholarship of the Republic of Tatarstan.

It is worthy of note that this year the venue for the solemn ceremony was changed – it was transferred from Kazan Kremlin to the International Information Centre nearby the Universiade Village. Student – 2013 prize was awarded there, as well.

As reported by the Minister of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism, Mr. Rafis Burganov, during the meeting with scholarship holders, the idea “to get together” belonged to the President of the RT, Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, who wanted to congratulate the best young people of the Republic during a solemn ceremony not dividing them into two groups. The Deputy Head of the Council of Rectors of the RT, Rector of Kazan State Medical University, Mr. Alexey Sozinov, acting Minister of Education and Science of the RT, Mr. Andrey Pominov, President of KFU, Mr. Myakzyum Salakhov, Chairman of the Exe­cutive Committee of the Movement of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Victor Tumanin, also attended the meeting.

Pressing problems topical for the Republic were discussed during the meeting. Each of the speakers mentioned the necessity to raise the level of education, preserve staff potential and strengthen the Republican economy. It was noticeable that presidium members placed high hopes on the scholarship holders.

Reference information. This year 80 Tatarstan students and postgraduates received the Special state scholarship of the Republic of Tatarstan, with 20 of them studying and working in Kazan Federal University. Aliya Fayzullina, the 4-year student of the Institute of Management and Territorial Development, and Dmitry Blokhin, postgraduate of General Physics Department of the Institute of Physics, were among the scholarship holders.
