Two International Scientific Forums on Philology are Held in KFU

The II International Conference “Languages of Russia and CIS Countries as Foreign Languages: Teaching and Study” and the IV International Conference “Comparative Philology and Polylinguism” opened today, on the 28th of November, in the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communications.

The Deputy Director of the Institute, Mr. Iskander Yarmakeev, addressed himself to guests and participants of the scientific forums. The Director of the Institute of Eurasia of Istanbul University, Mr. Ismet Biner, in his opening address offered to more actively develop exchange of students and teachers. Ms. Zhan Huejcin, representing Beijing University noted importance of such forums.

The II International Research-to-Practice Conference “Languages of Russia and CIS Countries as Foreign Languages: Teaching and Study” is devoted to: conceptual fundamentals of forming the image of Russia in the context of worldwide cultural process; new technologies and approaches to teaching Russian peoples’ languages and CIS countries’ languages as foreign languages; problems of linguistic, speech and sociocultural competence forming. Special attention is paid at the conference to issues of social importance of the Russian language and state languages of national republics of Russia, as well as of CIS peoples’ languages in post-Soviet space.

The IV International Conference “Comparative Philology and Polylinguism” considers such issues as: philology in polyethnic and inter-confessional medium, language functioning in polyethnic regions of Russia and world, bilingual education, comparative and typological linguistics, inter-literary interconnections and interactions.

Geography of participants of these scientific events is wide. Famous Russian scholars from Moscow, Barnaul, Kazan, Maykop and other Russian cities and regions, highly qualified specialists from Poland, Belgium, Spain, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, as well as partners of Kazan Federal University from Germany, Turkey, China and the USA are taking part in these forums.

The scientific conferences will continue working tomorrow.
