Grants for study at the Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems were given in IT-park

Solemn grant awarding ceremony for study at the Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems was held in Kazan IT-park. These certificates were given to 104 first -year students.

This event was attended by Deputy Prime - minister of the Tatarstan Republic, Minister of Information Support and Communications, Roman Shaikhutdinov, KFU Rector, Ilshat Gafurov, Director of the Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems, Airat Khasiyanov and Director of IT-park, Anton Grachoyv.

In his appeal Roman Shaikhutdinov advised to study not for good marks but for knowledge and focus on in-depth study of the English language. He also wished them in the future to be employed not by big companies, but to start their own business.

Ilshat Gafurov noted that employers were always complaining on University graduates who came to work without proper training, however, training in Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems had an applied nature and corresponded to contemporary requirements, so its graduates would not be objects for such complains.

Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems was established in 2011 with support of the Ministry of Information Support and Communications of the Tatarstan Republic and IT-park. Education is only tuition paying, however students with biggest number of points in State Unified Examination in Computer Science, Mathematics and Russian can be receive a scholarship for one year. Students can continue receiving free education, but they should pass all exams with good or excellent marks.

Every year number of grants allocated for 1-year students increases. In 2011-2012 30 students received grants, total sum of money 2.2 mln rubles, last year such grants were given to 120 students.

This year even regional IT companies provided grant support: Bars-group, SmartHead, FlatStack and Informatika.
