Minister Livanov meets his counterparts at KFU

July 7 – Minister Livanov held talks with his counterparts from CIS countries including Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov, Minister of Education of Belarus Sergei Maskevich, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Sadykov, Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Engel Fattakhov, KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov and rectors of Kazakhstan universities.

Opening the meeting, Minister Livanov noted the significance of harmonizing academic programs and making the assessment criteria of education quality similar within CIS countries. According to him, one of the main challenges remains the quality of professional training and the major task of the Ministry is to constantly improve the level of education without limiting the access of young people to higher education.

The role of federal universities was emphasized as well.

During the meeting Minister Livanov was invited to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for more detailed work and exchange of experience.
