The Assembly of European Regions Will Take Part in Organizing VI International Stakheev Readings

Pascal Goergen, Secretary General of The Assembly of European Regions visited KFU Branch in Elabuga today.  The introductory visit to the oldest educational institution in Elabuga was marked by one event. VI International Stakheev Readings “Small Cities in Russia: Past, Present, Future” will be held on the base of the Elabuga Branch in November.  The Assembly of European Regions was offered to assist in organizing the section “International Experience of Urban and Regional Development”.

After a tour of the Elabuga Branch and its museums, and a meeting with the administration Mr. Goergen left for Kazan where tomorrow he will part in the extended session in Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University.

The Assembly of European Regions is the largest independent network of regional authorities in Europe, bringing together over 250 regions (including Tatarstan) from 35 countries. Established in 1985, AER is a forum for interregional co-operation and a lobbyist for regional interests on the European stage.
