At Kazan Federal University, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and participants of the federal program for the development of municipal management reserve "School of Mayors".
As part of the off-site module of this program titled "Economic Activity and Territorial Development," representatives from the management of 73 Russian cities are visiting Tatarstan from May 28 to May 31.
The program is developed and implemented by the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation in collaboration with the Administration of President Vladimir Putin. The Higher School of State and Municipal Management at KFU is involved in implementing this program in Tatarstan.
The event at Kazan University saw participation from the Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration's Domestic Policy Department, Evgeny Grachev; Head of the Administration of the President of Tatarstan, Asgat Safarov; Co-chair of the All-Russian Association for Local Self-Government, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the Development of Local Self-Government, Irina Guseva; First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Tatarstan - Chief of the Office for Territorial Work, Ilnur Garipov; Head of the Department of Civil Service and Personnel under the President of Tatarstan, Alexander Belov; Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Leyla Fazleeva; Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of Tatarstan, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov; Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin; Director of the School of Public Administration at KFU, Igor Privalov.
Rustam Minnikhanov, opening the meeting which was conducted in an open dialogue format, thanked the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Association for the
Development of Local Self-Government, and RANEPA for choosing Tatarstan as one of the venues for the "School of Mayors" program.
He then discussed the achievements of the republic in various economic sectors and noted that Tatarstan consistently ranks in the top three of the National Investment Climate Ranking.
"The measures of federal support allow us to actively work on developing territories and implementing infrastructure projects," emphasized the President of Tatarstan.
The program aims to prepare highly qualified, competent specialists capable of implementing projects aimed at the development of municipal entities to enhance the quality of life for the population. Participants in Tatarstan will visit infrastructure and beautification sites in Kazan and familiarize themselves with the activities of enterprises.
